I started this newsletter because I got tired of how scattered fishing content has become. One post is just a lure review, the next is tournament results, and nothing really ties it all together in a way that helps you understand what actually matters on the water.

I’m a bass angler based in Kansas. I spend a lot of time on the water, I follow tournament fishing pretty closely, and I care just as much about electronics, gear, and decision making as I do about actually catching fish.

What I want this newsletter to be is simple. I’ll be breaking down what’s working on the water, where it’s working, and more importantly why it’s working. I’ll also get into gear and electronics, not just what’s new but what’s actually worth paying attention to, along with tournament and industry stuff and what the better anglers are doing differently.

The main idea here is not just to tell you what happened, but to explain why it happened so you can actually use it.

I’ll be posting weekly during the season and then throwing in extra breakdowns whenever something interesting comes up on the water or in the industry.

If you’re into bass fishing and want something that goes a little deeper than surface level tips and highlight clips, then you’re in the right place.

Thanks for reading and welcome to The Fishing Brief.
